Ø On 8th September, 2007 CTA conducted its very first workshop under the umbrella of Commerce Teachers’ Forum (Previous names of Commerce Teachers’ Association) at Dr. Radha Krishnan International Public School, Defence Colony, Delhi. Mr. S.S. Sehrawat, was invited to brief the teachers on latest changes in Curriculum of Accountancy. For Business studies Mr. Shruti Bodh Aggarwal, Vice Principal, RPVV, Kishan Ganj, was invited. He emphasized on new concept of Commerce Lab. According to him teaching of Business Studies and Accountancy can be made interesting with the help of Internet. The workshop was attended by more than 60 teachers from most reputed schools of south Delhi.
Ø On 8th September, 2007 CTA organized its first Felicitation Function in which meritorious students and their respective teachers were honoured. This was organized at LTG Auditorium, Mandi House, New Delhi. Chief Guest for the Function was Prof. P.C. Jain, Principal, Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi. Eminent personalities from NCERT, ICAI, CBSE, and various corporate houses graced the occasion with their presence.
This function was a great success as there was overwhelming response from Principals, Teachers and students.91 students and 150 teachers were honored by CTA.
Ø On 15th November, 2008 a workshop was held at Air Force Bal Bharati School, Lodhi Road. Prof. P.C. Tulsian for Accountancy and Prof. M.C. Sharma for Business Studies were invited. More than 135 teachers from South, Central and East Delhi Schools attended the workshop.
Ø On 22nd November, 2008 another workshop was held at New Era Public School, Maya Puri, New Delhi. It was conducted by Mr. Vikas Vijay, organizing secretary, CTA for Accountancy and Prof. M.C. Sharma, for Business Studies. More than 145 teachers from West, North Delhi School attended the workshop:
Ø On 9th May, 2009 CTA organized it first AGM at Air Force Bal Bharti School, Lodhi Road, in this working of CTA was discussed in detail. Future plans were also made, Audited accounts were presented by Mr. I.S. Punjwaria, the treasurer and were made available for the members to see Dr. Dinesh Madan, General Secretary presented report. On the same occasion Prof. A.K. Bhatnagar, an eminent psychologist was invited to make teacher members aware about “How to distress the stress” and “Positive thinking”. He talked about very simple methods for managing stress.
Members present there appreciated the talk, and asked CTA to conduct this kind of Program frequently.
Annual General Meeting
AGM of CTA was held on 8th May, 2010 which was attended by the members. Mr. Inderjeet Punjwaria, Treasurer of the Association, presented the Audited Financial Statements which was duly accepted by the other members. Dr. Dinesh Madan, General Secretary, presented the Annual Report. Zones of the city were divided and representatives appointed for each zone. They were also entrusted with different responsibilities to be carried out in their respective zones, which was very enthusiastically accepted by them.
The Capital markets are of prime importance to any economy, more so, considering a developing economy like that of ours. Keeping this in mind, CTA tied up with BLB Institute of Financial Markets (BIFM) to organize a seminar at their premises on the Financial Markets and its operation in India. It was organized on the 8th May, 2010. The Faculty members of BIFM gave out engrossing sessions on the said financial markets. The members were greatly benefitted by the seminar.
Another Seminar on financial markets was held at BIFM on 5th June, 2010 on financial markets, in continuation with the one held on 8th May, 2010.
Felicitation Function to honour the topper students of CBSE-2010 was held on 11th September, 2010 at Sri Sathya Sai International Auditorium, Lodhi Road. Prof. Deepak Pental, Hon’ble Vice – Chancellor of Delhi University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Shri. T. Venkat Rao, Vice- President and Head (Northern Region), National Stock Exchange, Sh. L. Gurumurthy, Director (CAT) of the ICWAI and Prof. K.V. Bhanumurthy, Head (Department of Commerce) of the Delhi School of Economics were the Guests of honour.
Mr. G.S Grewal, Eminent Author and Educationist, Dr Ms. Minoo Nandrajog, Reader in Commerce, NCERT, Dr. Shipra Vaidya, Reader in Commerce, NCERT and Ms. Sugandh Sharma, Education officer, CBSE were Special Invitees at the function.
International Commerce Olympiad -2010
On 3rd December, 2010 second International Commerce Olympiad was held at 156 schools of Delhi and NCR, Where above 8,000 students in all from class XI and XII appeared. This comprised of the concept of CPT as well as BBS/BBA entrance examination pattern. It has helped the students in exposing them towards competitive exams as well as to test themselves on the clarity of concepts. The unique concept of Olympiad was highly appreciated by teachers as well as students from commerce stream.
Annual General Meeting cum Professional Enrichment Programme:
On 14th May, 2011 AGM-cum-Professional Enrichment programme was conducted exclusively for CTA members at India International Centre Annexe. The AGM was steered by Dr. DInesh Madan, the Founder and General Secretary. The speakers of the professional enrichment programme were Dr. G.S. Grewal and MR. Rakesh Khosla FCA. Dr. Grewal made teachers aware about the concept of IFRS, whereas Mr. Khosla clarified various doubts of teachers related to different topics of Accountancy. More than 100 members were present at the programme.
Training on Computerized Accounting:
Training programme on Computerized Accounting was conducted in association with Grewal Academy of Accounting Professional (GAAP) at 8 centres of Delhi and NCR. It was organized exclusively for CTA members during summer vacation from 30th May to 14th June, 2011. It has been an another pioneering initiative of CTA.
Second phase of training on computerized accounting held from 14th June to 27th June,2011 at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road.
Zone Wise Workshops on Accountancy :
On 9th July, 2011 a workshop on Accountancy was held at Bharti Public School, Swasthya Vihar. The speaker of the workshop was Prof. D.K Goel, an eminent author from Arya Publications. The purpose of holding this workshop was to update the knowledge of teachers regarding recent amendments in curriculum and also find an expert answer for their queries. Teachers from the schools of East Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida attended the workshop.
On 16th July, 2011 another workshop on Accountancy was organized at Bal Bharti Public School, Sector-14, Rohini. The speaker of the workshop was Prof. D.K Goel. It was attended by the teachers from North, West and Central Delhi.
Felicitation Function -2011
On September 10, 2011 CTA organized its 4th Felicitation Function at Chinmaya Auditorium, Lodhi Road where 120 students and their respective teachers were honoured. The Chief Guest of the function was Mr. Vineet Joshi, Chairman, CBSE. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Prof. R.S.Dhankar, Dean, FMS, University of Delhi; FCA Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Chairman, NIRC, ICAI; Ms. Sugandh Sharma, Education Officer, CBSE; Dr. Minoo Nandrajog, Reader, NCERT and so on.
International Commerce Olympiad-2011
On November 25, 2011 CTA organized its third International Commerce Olympiad at 146 schools of Delhi and NCR, Kanpur and Gujarat where more than 10,000 students in all, from class XI and XII participated. This unique and pioneering initiative of CTA comprised concepts from CPT as well as BBS/BBA entrance exam pattern. It has immensely benefitted the students by exposing them to competitive exams as well as letting them know where they stand viz-a-viz the clarity of concepts.
Annual General Meeting cum Professional Enrichment Programme:
On May 12, 2012 an AGM cum Professional Enrichment Programme was conducted exclusively for CTA members at Air Force Bal Bharati Public School. The proceedings of the AGM were conducted by Dr. Dinesh Madan, Founder and General Secretary and Mrs. Savita Shangari, Founder Member. The speakers of the Professional Enrichment Programme were Dr. Anand Saxena, Associate Professor, Deen Dayal Upadhayay College, University of Delhi, Dr.Minoo Nandrajog, Reader, NCERT and Dr. M.M.Goyal, Principal, PGDAV College, University of Delhi. More than 170 members of CTA were present for the programme.
Zone Wise Workshops in Accountancy and Business Studies :
Since there were significant changes brought about by CBSE regarding introduction of Project work in Business Studies and implementation of Schedule VI (Revised), CTA took the initiative of enriching the teachers and updating them with such changes, for their professional excellence. Keeping in view the motto of CTA, zone wise workshops were organized.
On 29th June, 2012 a workshop on Accountancy and Business Studies was held at Suraj Bhan DAV Public School, Vasant Vihar. The resource person for the workshop on Business Studies Project Work was Mr.Sandeep Sethi, Education Officer, CBSE and for Schedule VI (Revised) the speaker was Mr. D.K.Goel, an eminent author from Arya Publications. Nearly 162 teachers from DAV schools across the country and from schools in South Delhi attended the workshop.
On 14th July, 2012 another workshop on recent changes in Curriculum was organized at Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar. The speaker of the workshop for Business Studies Project was Dr. Anand Saxena from DDU College, and for Accountancy (Schedule VI Revised) were Dr.G.S.Grewal and FCA Mr. Rakesh Khosla, eminent authors from Sultan Chand & Sons Pvt. Ltd. The workshop was attended by 180 teachers from East Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Modi Nagar.
On 21nd July, 2012 another workshop on changes in curriculum was organized at DL DAV Public School, ND Block, Pitam Pura, New Delhi .The speaker for Business Studies (Project Work) was Mr. Sandeep Sethi, Education Officer, CBSE and for Accountancy schedule VI revised were Dr. G.S.Grewal and FCA Mr. Rakesh Khosla, eminent authors from Sultan Chand and Sons Pvt. Ltd. It was attended by 170 teachers from schools of North and west Delhi.
